ST 500 Statistical Computer Packages

Catalog Description: 1(0-2-0)Comparison, evaluation, and use of computer packages for univariate and multivariate statistical analyses.

Objectives: In the Unix environment, students will learn the basics of three popular statistical computer packages in order to perform three common statistical analyses. The program packages are SAS, SPSS and MINITAB and the analyses include basic descriptive statistics, regression analysis and analysis of variance. Although the three packages have graphical interfaces, they will be compared in a batch environment. Supplemental statistical and unix resources will be presented.
