"Tukey and Technology: The Keys to Modern Statistics Education"
Abstract
Over the past century, many attempts were made to promote statistics as a key part of the
school curriculum. All attempts failed until the emphasis in the practice of statistics
moved to data analysis. Tukey made data analysis acceptable; technology made data analysis
possible. The combination led to a revolution in statistics education that has placed data
analysis in the center of current curricular reform.
