Calendar for Distance STAT Courses

Here is a brief calendar for the next few terms. For complete information on drop deadlines and policies, please check the Division of Continuing Education Drop and Refund Policy and Drop Deadlines.

Note:

  1. Non-degree seeking students may also register on the dates given below (GUEST registration dates do not apply).
  2. Semester classes run 16 weeks in the fall and spring, 12 weeks in the summer
  3. Subterm classes run 8 weeks in the fall and spring; 3 or 6 weeks in the summer.
Spring, 2012 October 15 Registration begins
  January 10 Registration ends
  January 17 First day of spring semester
  January 29 Drop with 100% tuition refund (less fee)
  February 1 Last day for Continuous Registration (with late fee)
  March 11 Drop with 50% tuition refund (less fee)
  March 12-16 Spring Break
  May 12 Last day of spring semester
Summer, 2012 March 15 Registration begins for Summer
  May 14 Registration ends for Summer
  May 21 First day of Summer classes
  May 28 University Holiday
  June 3 Drop with 100% tuition refund (less fee)
  June 17 Drop with 50% tuition refund (less fee)
  June 19 Last day for Continuous Registration (with late fee)
  July 4 University Holiday
  August 10 Last day of summer term
Subterm 1, 2012 July 30 First day of MSSA & CSSA (Subterm 1 of the MAS)
  March 15 Registration begins
  July 1 Registration ends. Drop with full refund
  August 17 Last day of MSSA & CSSA (Subterm 1 of the MAS) 
Fall, 2012 June 1 Registration begins for all Fall classes
  August 5 Drop with 100% tuition and fee refund for Fall semester and Subterm 2 classes
  August 13 Registration ends for all Fall classes
  August 20 First day of Fall semester & Subterm 2 of the MAS
  September 2 Drop with 100% tuition refund (less fee) for semester and Subterm 2 classes
  September 3 University Holiday
  September 5 Last day for Continuous Registration (with late fee)
  September 16 Drop Subterm 2 classes with 50% tuition refund (less fee)
  September 30 Drop with 100% tuition and fee refund for Subterm 3 classes
  October 12 End of Subterm 2 of the MAS
  October 14 Drop semester classes with 50% tuition refund (less fee)
  October 15 Beginning of Subterm 3 of the MAS
  October 28 Drop with 100% tuition refund (less fee) for Subterm 3 classes
  November 11 Drop Subterm 3 classes with 50% tuition refund (less fee)
  November 19-23 Fall Recess
  December 15 Last day of fall semester and Subterm 3 of the MAS

Note: All of the above dates are approximate and subject to change.

  • STAT prefix courses run 16 weeks (12 weeks in the summer).
  • STAA prefix courses run 8 weeks (except STAA 556, which runs 6 weeks in summer).
  • MSSA & CSSA are 3 week non-credit courses.

Please keep in mind when dropping courses, that refunds are for tuition only (less a fee), and do not include the non-refundable $20 technology fee charged separately by the University.
