Distance Day 2008
Our annual CSU Statistics Department Distance Day will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2008. Distance Day 2008 will provide you with an opportunity to interact with your fellow distance students as well as the Statistics faculty, staff and some on-campus students.
We hope that you will be able to take advantage of this opportunity to meet with us face to face. It might be a particularly good venue for finalizing the choice of your advisor. Based on your input, we have decided to include some short presentations on topics of interest such as choosing program/courses, internships and career opportunities and tips for succeeding in distance education.
Distance Day participants and all distance students are eligible for a discounted registration for the exciting Graybill Conference that will be held June 11 to June 13, 2008. The conference starts with a choice of workshops ("Graphics" or "Hot Topics in Clinical Trials") which will be held on June 11th. The workshops are followed by the conference, which runs June 12th and 13th. The topic for this year's conference is "Biopharmaceutical Statistics". The invited lectures will be given by leading researchers from this field.
The Distance Day/Graybill Conference registration form will be available soon. Please register for the conference by June 1st, in order to get the lowest registration fees. Registration fees for the Graybill Conference will increase by $25 on June 1st. There is no registration fee for attending Distance Day. If you are not attending the Graybill Conference or the workshop, but want to attend Distance Day only, we still need for you to fill out a registration form, so that we can send the necessary materials to you before Distance Day. For planning purposes, we need to hear from you by 5:00pm on Monday, June 2nd .
