I have had a long time interest in statistical graphics and computing as well and often find new ways of "showing off" statistical results. Indeed I was invited in the early 70s to speak at the newly formed "Computer Science and Statistics Interface Symposium". The organizer of that conference recently reminded me I had suggested at that time that smaller desktop computers would be the future. The thinking back then was that several very large and fast computers would meet the needs for all. Boy, were they wrong!
