Introduction to SAS

So you've never used SAS before.... Here are some resources for help on SAS.

1. On our PCs you can use the tutorial in SAS. To access this, start SAS on a PC. Within SAS choose "Help" from the menu bar and then choose "Getting started on SAS software". On this page, two good topics to start with are "Tour SAS windows" and "Use SAS window features".

2. For other introductions to SAS for Windows, see the webpages at St Olaf (the most useful part of this page is the proc GLM portion), University of Indiana, or USC.

3. For an introduction to SAS for Unix, see the webpage at the University of Michigan . On our Unix machines, start SAS by typing: sas &

4. You might find the attached handout, "Some simple SAS programs to run", useful to get you started in SAS. Read one of the introductions to SAS on one of the webpages listed above and then type in these programs in the SAS.
