The Comprehensive Adobe Flash 7.0.70.0 Solaris Sparc FAQ Last Update: Dec 6, 2007 Q: On July 10, 2007, Adobe released a bulletin (APSB07-12) noting several security issues. This bulletin mentions version 7.0.70.0 of the flash player. As version 9 of the flash player will not run on Solaris < 10, and as the bulletin states: "Users are recommended to update to the most current version of Flash Player available for their platform" I'd like to download version 7.0.70.0 for Solaris Sparc, but when I go to the Solaris page, all I'm offered is 9.0.47.0 which won't run on my platform. The bulletin points to this javascript-laden page: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=d9c2fe33&sliceId=1 titled: _Flash Player upgrade for operating systems that do not support Flash Player 8_ but on that page are downloads for Windows and Mac only. So, is it possible to download the 7.0.70.0 version for Solaris Sparc from the Adobe site? A: No. Update -- In a posting to comp.unix.solaris in Dec 2007 (!), Oscar del Rio noted that this archive: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/installers/archive/fp7_archive.zip (one line) contains the 7.0.70.0 flash player for both Solaris Sparc and x86. Many thanks to Mr. del Rio and many thanks-for-nothing to Adobe.
