Mac the Knife reports the following in the June 8, 1998 Macweek: "... Apple and Microsoft continue to build on their creative partnership, at least judging from new reports about Windows 95 motifs in MacOS 8.5. ... beta users are nonplused by aliases that look like Win95 shortcuts and a File Servers application that resembles Microsoft's Network Neighborhood. Even more exciting, an Internet control panel that behaves eerily like Internet Config has 90 percent of its file mapping (sic) set for Microsoft products. "Quicktime movies are set to open in Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Outlook Express gets the nod over Apple's own Emailer .... To add insult to heresy, Apple's marketing department has even sent out a questionnaire to determine what it would take to convert Mac users to the latest and greatest Microsoft apps."
