The Pocket Watch by Zube (zube@stat.colostate.edu) Created: Mar 22, 2013 Updated: Mar 22, 2013 http://www.stat.colostate.edu/~zube/the.pocket.watch.txt My father owned a pocket watch that he never used. When I was a youngin', he would let me look at it. Nothing was so cool as that pocket watch. I often asked if I could borrow it. My father explained me that it was for me when I was "a little older". As he put the watch away, I wished more than anything that I could be "a little older". Time passed. I became a little older. Then a lot older. Then my father passed away. By the time I was offered the watch, it was too late. The boy who craved it was now the old man with no taste for it. Time and timing are what life is all about.
