A Theory of Fun for Game Design by Raph Koster review by Zube (zube@stat.colostate.edu) Created: Nov 30, 2005 Updated: Dec 27, 2005 http://www.stat.colostate.edu/~zube/theoryoffun.txt Very briefly ... Mr. Koster has written an excellent book that considers fun in the context of games. It's not a perfect book (there are many statements that I disagree with either partially or fully), but it is an interesting and thought-provoking one. It's the first book that Gets It; ten years from now I believe it will be cited as such. It is also the first gaming book I've ever bought for my video gaming and non-video gaming friends. It goes on the shelf next to _The Ultimate History of Video Games_ and _chris crawford on game design_, the highest honor I can give it. Highly recommended.
