"A Crash Course in Wavelet Methods"

There will be a half-day short course with Xiao-Li Meng, Thomas Lee and Patrick Wolfe preceding the conference on Sunday afternoon, June 11, 2006 from 1pm to 5pm.

This course aims to provide a basic introduction to the use of
wavelets in statistics and other areas. Beginners at all levels
(graduate students, statistics researchers and other scientists) will
find this course useful.

Course contents:

Wavelets and multiscale analysis
Thresholding and nonlinear estimation
Algorithms and implementationRe short course hours (graybill conference)
