I was born in Poland. I studied applied mathematics at Wroclaw Technical University and probability theory at Boston University. From 1993 to 1996, I was a postdoc at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, then a Lecturer in Statistics at the University of Liverpool, England. Since 2000 until 2011, I had gone through all academic ranks at Utah State University in Logan. In August 2011, I joined Colorado State University.
In June 1995, Gudrun Schellhas and I got married.
Our daughter Vanessa was born August 2002. I enjoy swimming, biking and history books.
