Resampling to assess significance of gene clusters

Jenny Bryan, Biotechnology Laboratory & Department of Statistics, University of British Columbia

We will propose methods for describing many cluster analysis problems in genomics as conventional statistical inference problems. In particular, this includes identifying the specific clustering parameter of interest, assessing its sampling variability through appropriate resampling and bootstrapping strategies, and providing visual data summaries of the evidence for various aspects of the clustering.
