State University Campus Dr.
Steen Knudsen
Associate Professor, Deputy Director Center for Biological Sequence Analysis Technical University of Denmark As part of the Graybill Conference 2003, Dr. Steen Knudsen will conduct a one-day tutorial on the analysis of microarray data on June 18, 2003, at Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. The tutorial is intended for biologists interested in learning about current techniques for microarray data analysis and for statisticians interested in developing familiarity with this fast growing field offering exciting opportunities for creative use of statistical techniques.
Dr.
Knudsen is the author of the recent book titled "
A Biologist's Guide to Analysis
of DNA Microarray Data,” published by Wiley. The tutorial will be based on his book and will be conducted
in a classroom with computers with a limit of 40 participants. There will
be opportunity for some hands-on experience and computer exercises.
The tutorial will cover the following topics:
For
the benefit of statisticians and students of statistics who may be new to this
field, a brief introduction to molecular biology will be included. For the conference registrants, there is a nominal fee of $50 (the fee includes the book which will be distributed to all participants) for the tutorial.
